Truth is stranger than fiction, and Bill Bowers has some stories to tell.  Bill Bowers has been on the road for most of his life. For the past 30 years he has traveled, performed and taught workshops in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Canada, and across Europe and Asia. He has performed on the stages of Broadway, the Kennedy Center, and grade school cafetoriums. He has performed at The White House, an Amish Colony, and a Nudist resort. He has given mime lessons to Hollywood movie stars and to a bunny rabbit.

BILL BOWERS (Playwright/Performer) currently performs and teaches the art of physical storytelling throughout the world. An award-winning actor, Bowers has performed in all 50 United States and Puerto Rico appearing on the stages of Broadway, The Kennedy Center, The White House, Steppenwolf, LaMaMa, Theatre for a New Audience, St. Ann’s Warehouse, Urban Stages, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, Ensemble Studio Theater, Radio City Music Hall, HERE, and the New York International Fringe Festival. His Broadway credits include Zazu in The Lion King and Leggett in The Scarlet Pimpernel. He has also portrayed the great silent clowns: Charlie Chaplin in the world premiere of Little Tramp, Pierrot in the world premiere of Beethoven N Pierrot, and Petruchka with The Colorado Symphony.

 

A passionate student and educator, Bowers studied with the legendary Marcel Marceau and currently serves on the faculties of New York University, Stella Adler Conservatory, and William Esper Studios. He holds an MFA from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts, and an Honorary PhD from Rocky Mountain College.

 

Bill has written and performed his own plays Off Broadway and in theaters around the world. These plays include ‘Night Sweetheart ‘Night Buttercup at HERE, Under a Montana Moon at Urban Stages and the Kennedy Center, It Goes Without Saying at Rattlestick Theatre, and Beyond Words at Urban Stages. His ensemble play, Heyokah Hokehay, has been produced in Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, and the Edinburgh Festival. He is featured in the film TWO WEEKS NOTICE, and on television on The MEREDITH VIEIRA SHOW, Disney’s OUT OF THE BOX, REMEMBER W.E.N.N., ONE LIFE TO LIVE, ALL MY CHILDREN, and the ONION NEWS NETWORK.
