A variety show that asks, ‘What does it all mean?’ As Katie inhabits the bodies and minds of her vivid and arresting fictional characters, we are led into their worlds–free of shame–as they explore the depths of the human psyche and experience. With dramatic and humorous vignettes, Katie Northlich asks us to consider if the simultaneously beautiful and grotesque chaos of life is a product of fate or free will. And, in the end, does it matter either way?
KATIE NORTHLIC (playwright/performer) is an actress, playwright, screenwriter, producer, and acting coach. She is a Four Time National Monologue Champion, having written, performed and produced original work since 2001. Her solo shows The Panic Diaries, Panel, and Character Forum: A Thesis, have played to critical acclaim and sold out Off-Broadway houses in New York City, including the Cherry Lane. Her work was chosen as a premiere piece in opening Stage Left Studio’s first season, NYC’s only Solo Repertory Theatre. She was also one of only 20 performers invited to perform in the inaugural year of the All For One Theater Festival, celebrating the best solo performance in NYC. Katie’s play Two Of Them, Looking was selected in the fall of 2013 for Emerging Artist Theatre’s New Work Series. As a teacher at the New York Film Academy in the Acting, Animation and Game Design departments, Katie wrote and debuted a curriculum called The Comedy Program. JERRY MILLER (director) has performed at innumerable theatres, comedy clubs and performances spaces around the city, including the Cherry Lane, P.S. 122, HERE, 90th Street Y, the Union Square Summer Concert Series, UCB and the PIT. He has been featured in programs on AMC, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Fuse and Lifetime, starring in and creating content for MTV, TV Land, Comedy Central and CBS Sports Network. Jerry’s last project, Dystopia Gardens, was hailed by the New York Times as, “Par for the course with SNL.” Currently, he is the host and writer of ‘Tailgate Fan’ a CBS Local web series.
